The Ford 4.6 L motor Modular V8 is a widely used and highly adaptable engine platform produced from the early 1990s through 2014, featuring a near-square bore and stroke of 90.2 mm × 90.0 mm for balanced power and durability. Built with either cast-iron or aluminum blocks, it was offered in multiple configurations, including 2-valve SOHC, 3-valve SOHC with Variable Cam Timing (VCT), and 4-valve DOHC layouts to suit a broad range of performance and utility needs. Displacing 4.6 liters (281 cubic inches), the engine delivered outputs ranging from approximately 190 horsepower in early 2-valve versions to 390 horsepower in the supercharged 4-valve DOHC “Terminator” variant, with torque optimized for both daily driving and high-performance applications.
