The 6F35 uses Motorcraft MERCON LV low-viscosity ATF, with a fluid capacity of roughly 8.5 liters, and has an aluminum housing to reduce weight and improve heat dissipation. 

Gear ratios typically include a 4.58:1 first gear for strong launch and a 0.75:1 sixth gear for highway efficiency, with a torque capacity of around 350 Nm, making it suitable for 1.5L to 2.5L gasoline engines, including EcoBoost variants.

Its design focuses on consistent performance, smooth shifts, and long-term reliability in daily-use vehicles.

6F15 Transmission

The 6F15 is a lighter-duty structural derivative of the 6F35, engineered for vehicles equipped with low-power engines such as the 1.0L EcoBoost. While it shares the same basic six-speed design and layout, the 6F15 uses lighter internal components and lower torque capacity to reduce weight and improve fuel economy. This makes it ideal for small, efficiency-focused vehicles rather than high-torque applications.
