W16 engine

A W16 engine is a sixteen-cylinder powerplant arranged in a “W” configuration, typically created by combining two narrow-angle V8 banks on a common crankshaft. The best-known example is the 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 used in Bugatti hypercars, featuring a displacement of 7,993 cc, four turbochargers, 64 valves, and advanced cooling systems, producing over 1,000 horsepower (up to 1,600 hp in later versions) and more than 1,200 Nm of torque. This engine uses four camshafts, dry-sump lubrication, and sophisticated intercooling, enabling exceptionally high performance and top speeds surpassing 400 km/h while maintaining stability and smooth power delivery. 

Not only this it also employs four overhead camshafts, advanced intercoolers, and multiple radiators to manage the immense heat generated. Depending on the variant, it can produce between 1,001 hp and 1,600+ hp, with torque figures exceeding 1,200 Nm, enabling acceleration from 0–100 km/h in under 2.5 seconds and top speeds beyond 400 km/h.
