The 4L65E transmission is a heavy-duty, electronically controlled 4-speed automatic transmission developed by General Motors as an upgraded version of the 4L60E. Designed to handle higher torque, it features strengthened internal components such as a 5-pinion planetary gearset, hardened input shaft, and improved clutch packs for enhanced durability and performance. The 4L65E offers gear ratios of 3.06:1 (1st), 1.62:1 (2nd), 1.00:1 (3rd), and 0.70:1 (overdrive), providing strong acceleration with efficient highway cruising. 

It supports torque capacities of up to 380 lb-ft, making it suitable for performance cars, SUVs, and light trucks. Commonly paired with 5.3L, 6.0L LS engines, the 4L65E is known for smooth electronic shifting, reliability, and adaptability in both stock and performance applications.
