The TREMEC TKX transmission is a modern 5-speed manual transmission designed to be strong, smooth, and easy to use. It is built for high-power engines and can handle up to 600 lb-ft of torque, making it suitable for muscle cars, restomods, and performance builds. Compared to older transmissions, the TKX has a smaller and slimmer body, which helps it fit into tight transmission tunnels and provides better ground clearance without heavy modifications. 

The TKX shifts smoothly because it uses advanced synchronizers and an internal shifting system, reducing vibration and making gear changes more precise, even at high RPM. It comes with multiple shifter locations, so it can be adapted to different car interiors. The transmission offers different gear ratio options, allowing drivers to choose quick acceleration or more relaxed driving. Its overdrive fifth gear lowers engine speed during highway cruising, which helps improve fuel economy, reduce noise, and increase driving comfort. 1979–1993 Ford Mustang (Foxbody) – 5.0L / 5.8L SBF

A lightweight rear-wheel-drive platform configured with a built 5.0L or 5.8L small-block Ford, aluminum heads, performance cam, EFI or carb setup, and long-tube headers. Typically paired with a T5 or Tremec manual (or built AOD), 8.8-inch rear end with limited slip, upgraded suspension bushings, subframe connectors, and larger disc brakes for balanced street and track performance.

1994–2004 Ford Mustang (SN95)

Configured with either a 4.6L modular V8 or swapped 5.0L Coyote/SBF, supported by upgraded cooling, intake, exhaust, and ECU tuning. Common setups include a Tremec 3650/T56 transmission, strengthened 8.8 rear axle, coil-over suspension, chassis bracing, and modern brake upgrades, making it a solid daily-drivable performance build.

1964–1972 GM A-Body (Chevelle, El Camino, GTO, LeMans, 442)

A classic muscle-car configuration using a small-block or big-block Chevy/Pontiac V8 with upgraded ignition, fuel delivery, and headers. Typically paired with a TH400, 4-speed manual, or modern overdrive transmission, reinforced rear end, improved suspension geometry, power disc brakes, and cooling upgrades for reliable street cruising with strong torque output.

1967–1969 GM F-Body (Camaro / Firebird)

Set up with a high-performance small-block or big-block V8, aluminum intake, performance camshaft, and free-flowing exhaust. Often combined with a Muncie 4-speed, T56 swap, or automatic, plus upgraded front suspension, subframe connectors, power disc brakes, and wider wheels/tires to enhance handling while preserving classic muscle aesthetics.
