The TR6060 transmission is a heavy-duty 6-speed manual gearbox engineered for high-performance vehicles, offering exceptional strength, smooth shifting, and durability under high torque loads. Built with a robust aluminum case and advanced synchronizers, it typically supports torque ratings between 500-700 lb-ft, depending on the application. The TR6060 features close-ratio gearing for precise power delivery, double- and triple-cone synchronizers for improved shift quality, and a short, crisp throw that enhances driver engagement. 

It’s often includes larger gears, stronger shafts, and upgraded bearings compared to earlier T-56 units, allowing it to handle aggressive driving, track use, and high-horsepower builds. Compatible Models

Camaro SS/ZL1

The Chevrolet Camaro SS and ZL1 versions of the TR6060 feature ratios optimized for strong acceleration, with torque ratings ranging from around 430 lb-ft in the SS to over 650 lb-ft in the ZL1. These units use triple-cone synchronizers on the lower gears, a robust aluminum housing, and upgraded internal shafts to handle high-revving V8 power. The ZL1 variant includes additional cooling provisions and heavy-duty clutch compatibility, making it ideal for track and high-boost applications.   

Corvette C6/C7

The Corvette C6 and C7, the TR6060 is tuned for high-speed stability and performance, offering torque capacity in the 600–700 lb-ft range depending on the engine package. These Corvettes benefit from a rear transaxle layout, giving the TR6060 unique packaging with integrated differential mounting and improved weight distribution. 

Cadillac CTS-V

The CTS-V’s TR6060 is designed to withstand the supercharged LSA engine’s immense torque output up to approximately 550–600 lb-ft. Dodge applications of the TR6060 transmission particularly in the Challenger SRT models and the Viper use some of the highest torque-rated versions of the gearbox, often exceeding 600–650 lb-ft. These models include extra-strong gearsets, heavy-duty bearings, and unique ratios tailored for big-displacement HEMI and V10 engines. The Viper variant in particular uses a strengthened input/output shaft setup engineered for extreme heat and torque durability under race conditions.

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

The TR6060 in the Shelby GT500 is built to handle the supercharged 5.4L and 5.8L engines, with torque capacity commonly around 600–650 lb-ft. It features aggressive performance ratios for rapid acceleration, reinforced synchronizers, and a short-throw design that complements the GT500’s high-power, high-RPM driving style. Additional cooling provisions and a stronger clutch interface help ensure durability during drag-strip launches and spirited track driving.
